In 2008 new European regulations came into force, which meant older aircraft lke the DC3 would no longer be allowed to carry paying passengers, due to it not having the relevant safety equipment onboard. As a result a farewell tour took place around the UK, 1 week before the ban took place the tour came to Belfast.
